  19. Subject: Fax/Modem Bundled with the NEC SL/25c Computer

  21. Situation:
  22. ==========
  23. You encounter problems when using WinFax PRO with the fax/modem that
  24. comes with the NEC SL/25c computer.
  25.  
  26. Solution:
  27. =========
  28. Run a communications program, such as Windows Terminal, and enter each
  29. of the following commands:
  30.  
  31.     ATi3           <ENTER>
  32.     ATi4           <ENTER>
  33.     AT+FCLASS=?    <ENTER>
  34.  
  35. Record the responses on paper.
  36.  
  37. Note:    The Terminal program is usually found in the Windows
  38.          Accessories Group. Consult your Microsoft Windows User's
  39.          Guide for more information on using this program.
  40.  
  41. You should get the following responses:
  42.  
  43.     ATi3           :    243
  44.     ATi4           :    243
  45.     AT+FCLASS=?    :    Error
  46.  
  47. Although this would usually mean your fax/modem is not compatible, if
  48. you install the fax/modem as a Worldport, you can send faxes; however,
  49. you will not be able to receive faxes.
  50.  
  51. If you get different responses, contact your fax/modem manufacturer to
  52. determine the type of fax/modem you should install for.
